So what if Google Nexus One was not as great as we all had expected it to be and so what if from the very time of its launch, complaints from its owners flooded its support forum? Criticism paves way for improvement and Google knows that quite well. That is why the new smartphone maker has amazed the Nexus One owners by adding multi-touch to the phone through a surprise update with few other tweaks to deal with other complaints.
The much requested feature of multitouch, has been pushed out to all of the Nexus One devices. The software update, which will take place over the air, facilitates multi-touch features, including pinch-to-zoom style navigation through different Google applications like Maps, the web browser and the photo gallery. Also taking care of the other loopholes, Google has also promised to provide a general fix to improve the 3G connectivity on some handsets. Apart from this, some of Google’s own apps have been given improvements as part of the download.
In case you haven’t received a notification as of now, needn’t be restive. Acc to Nexus One Blog , the update will be rolled out gradually to phones and most users might not receive the notification until the end of the week.
Although a few days ago , a developer had modified the Android 2.1 operating system running on the Nexus One to enable multi-touch for the device, it offered no security. The update will not only calm the repenting owners of the phone who had somewhere made up their minds to love the phone without the feature, but may also spur a few more purchases.
