Almost every time I have heard someone shout “Can you hear me now?” without failure it’s turned out to be a telephonic conversation. Everyday there are numerous monologue we are forced to be an audience to. While travelling in a b
us, waiting in a queue or just walking on the road; we are always made the victim of forced half conversations.
Mobile phones are no longer a necessity; they are very much a part of our being. When was the last time you left your mobile at home and went out consciously? We can’t move an inch without them and that’s exactly why we carry them to the conference rooms, client meetings, movie halls and rest rooms as well.
I thinkit’s very important to know mobile manners if you use mobile phones. Someone needs to tell every mobile owner that it’sdisrespectful to be on phone while they are actually conversing with someone else. A proper rule should be laid out saying that they cannot use hand signals to the shop owner in a grocery shop while talking on their phones or text on their mobiles while sitting in a conference room.A few rules that I think every mobile user should adhere to:
- Please do not SHOUT in public. If the other person cannot hear you well, it’s the problem with the phone or the network and shouting is really not going to help.
- No one wants to know that your maid didn’t come to your house today. Please keep your conversations private especially when you are in a lift, a bus or any place where you are clearly audible.
- I have no interest in your ringtone. The next time you enter a movie hall or a lecture, please make sure that your phone is either switched off or put in silent.
- It’s easier not to answer at times. It’s difficult but let your messaging service to tell the person you are busy. Remember- there was a time you lived without mobile phone.

- Inappropriate messages can put you in jail. Know the person you are sending a message to and know the kind of message you are sending.
- Seek permission before taking a picture. Your inbuilt camera should function the same way as your normal camera. Under no condition, are you allowed to take someone’s picture without their consent.
- Do not use messaging as an alternative to talking on phone. It’s inappropriate and insulting to be texting while you are having a lunch with someone or while you are attending a meeting.
