Tesco has just announced the availability of iPhone in its stores and websites. The iPhone which was quite high priced in the UK market will now be available for about  £222 on a monthly contract of £20.

iPhone has already become the most loved smartphone all over the world. Its only the steep price that the iPhone comes with which makes it unaffordable in most of the market segments. The new pricing could be a great Christmas gift for the UK consumers.

Lance Batchelor, CEO of Tesco Mobile and Tesco Telecoms expressed his delight at the deal and said, ”iPhone is now available and affordable for all, with the best deals in the UK market,”

He further added, ”This is a fantastic announcement for us and we’re delighted to make iPhone available to our customers. It shows what a serious player in the mobile market Tesco Mobile has become.”

The demand for smartphones has been on a rise and there a numerous phones to be launched in the coming few months. The price cut would certainly give iPhone sales a boost but what needs to be watched is how long can iPhone sustain its numero uno position.
